PECO Customers Soon To Pay 13% Less for Electricity
Small commercial and residential customers in Pennsylvania will experience changes to their monthly electricity bills, starting March 1, 2021. PECO has filed with the Pennsylvania PUC for a new generation rate for the following three-month period.
For residential customers, this means 3% decrease, from the current rate of $0.05920 per kWh to $0.05761 per kWh.
For small commercial customers, the decrease is steeper. Customers at or under 100 kW, will see their new rate go down by 13%, from the current $0.06008 per kWh to $0.05243 per kWh.
The news comes only four months after PECO raised natural gas rates for the first time in the decade due in large part to a $69 million investment in the natural gas system.
The new proposed lower prices will have to be approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission before they can take effect.
